The small family distillery in North Rhine-Westphalia is dedicated to the production of high-quality spirits. Founded in 2000 by long-time friends Ulrich Wolfkühler and the Mülheims with the aim of producing real natural products without additives and purely by hand.
The selection of natural, mostly regional ingredients and the best water from our own well give the products their unique and unmistakable taste. The quality of the distillates is guaranteed by manual work from production to bottling to labeling and sealing the bottles. This philosophy creates unique and natural products without any additives or artificial flavors.
In 2007, the Sauerländer Edelbrennerei took the step from hobby to business and has been managed by master distiller Julian Wellhausen ever since. In 2016, a historic sawmill was acquired and a second still was installed to meet the increasing demand for high-quality spirits. The distillery combines tradition and innovation and relies on the perfect combination of craftsmanship and modern distilling technology.
The passion for the art of distilling and the personal enthusiasm of each family member and employee are another cornerstone of the distillery’s philosophy. With passion and love for the product, an all-round harmonious and unique product is created that is not only appreciated by schnapps connoisseurs.
