About Malts of Germany

How the world of whisky is enriched by another country of origin.

German whisky stands for diversity, inventiveness and a delight in experimentation. Family companies with a passion for advanced distillation technology that spans the generations have laid the foundations hereabouts for brands of the highest quality. And in recent decades, we have worked meticulously and experimented, refined and blended to make our whiskies the unique treasures they are today. Our friendship and our fascination with the amber-coloured distillate are the reason we are now venturing to

take a quantum leap together: Malts of Germany is an independent bottler and we give the whiskies produced exclusively in Germany the care they deserve. We combine the various experiences, techniques and ideas of all our distilleries, and are constantly on the lookout for other interesting distilleries and their whiskies – the best in the country, from the Alps to the coast, from the River Oder to the Rhine – and bring them to the attention of Germany and the world.

German whisky is becoming increasingly well-known and is gaining recognition worldwide. With more than 250 active whisky distilleries, Germany now has more than twice as many distilleries as Scotland, the motherland of whisky. German whisky distillers attach great importance to the high quality and regional identity of their products in order to produce unique and interesting whiskies.

The distilleries, which often grew out of beer breweries and fruit distilleries, frequently experiment with new production methods, regional raw materials and cask types to give their whiskies a unique taste. You can smell and taste this regional union of tradition and innovation in every Malts of Germany bottling.

Our dachshund Max, with his individuality and his friendly, purposeful nature, is the embodiment of our German whisky, with all its individual qualities.
He always barks along happily when we clink glasses and say ’Cheers to friendship!’

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Our distilleries combine craftsmanship and passion in every bottle of Malts of Germany. For us, it‘s all about the fascination of whisky-making. We rely on traditional craftsmanship in preparation, distillation, and barrel management. Anyone who shares our love for whisky and wants to join our principles has the qualifications to become a Malt of Germany.

TASTE

Craftsmanship alone is not enough. To become a Malt of Germany, a whisky must not only taste good but also have a complex personality that is noticeable on the tongue and palate. We bottle whiskies that possess character and harmony and offer an unforgettable taste experience. Our whiskys captivate and inspire with their power and complexity. Let‘s toast together - „Cheers to friendship!“

SUSTAINABILITY

As a multi-generational family business, we want to leave the planet to our descendants as we found it. That‘s why we use climate-neutral shipping and hosting. Additionally, we use 100 % recycled materials for our bottles.
